Our pets are our family members. They need to travel and move with us. When we move, they ought to be part of the plan. Their movement however takes time and needs adequate planning. This can sometimes take up to 3 months depending on the origin or destination. Also depending on destination, there are tests you need to undertake so as to get authorization to travel. Documentation is also key. This is majorly for cross border movements.

From country of origin

• Up to date Vaccination certificate
• Health certificate from your vet
• Relevant lab tests by country or state
• Export permit from government agency (This is unlocked by an import permit from destination after sending the documents above to destination)

From country or state of destination

• Import permit (Once they receive above documents and ascertain the pet is healthy to enter their jurisdiction)

Then the pet owner plans for travel by booking cabin or oxygenated cargo transport.
